Treating mild bacterial infections: For mild GI infections (e.g., traveler’s diarrhea caused by Gram-positive pathogens) or skin infections (e.g., S. aureus folliculitis), topical or oral nisin supplements can reduce symptoms without promoting antibiotic resistance.
