MARK-II Slip Resistance Tester
The Slip Resistance Tester is designed to evaluate the static coefficient of friction between footwear soles and flooring surfaces. By applying a controlled normal load and gradually increasing horizontal force until the test sample slides, the tester provides a quantitative assessment of slip resistance. This information is essential for pedestrian safety evaluation and footwear material testing.
Application
(1)Slip resistance testing of footwear soles, including work boots, safety shoes, and casual footwear
(2)Evaluation of flooring surfaces such as tile, concrete, wood, vinyl, and anti-slip coatings
(3)Quality control in footwear manufacturing to ensure compliance with slip resistance standards
(4)Building inspection for public facilities, hospitals, schools, and industrial environments
(5)Laboratory testing for research and development of non-slip materials and coatings
(6)In-situ testing for slip hazard assessment in construction sites, commercial kitchens, and wet or oily surfaces
Standards
(1)ASTM F1677 — Standard Test Method for Pedestrian Walkway Slip Resistance
(2)EN 16165 — Slip Resistance of Pedestrian Surfaces
(3)ISO 13287 — Footwear – Test Method for Slip Resistance
(4)BS 7976 — Pendulum Test Method for Slip Resistance of Floors
(5)DIN 51130 — Testing of Floor Coverings – Ramp Test
Product Features
(1)Portable design for convenient on-site testing of floors and soles
(2)Rotating or tilting support frame to gradually apply horizontal thrust
(3)Weight system to apply fixed normal load on test sample
(4)Test fixture accommodating standard sample dimensions (76mm × 76mm)
(5)Sensor or gauge to measure horizontal force at the onset of slip
(6)Calculation of the static coefficient of friction based on measured forces
(7)Suitable for diverse flooring types and sole materials
(8)Simple operation with straightforward loading and tilting procedure
