Test Procedures
(1) Secure the vertically oriented test specimen in the holding frame.
(2) Adjust the motor feed rate according to material thickness and standard requirements.
(3) Set the oxygen and acetylene flow rates using the needle valves.
(4) Start the test and allow molten metal droplets to impact the specimen.
(5) Monitor the temperature rise behind the specimen until a 40 K increase is reached; record the number of droplets required.
(6) Compile results for material evaluation and certification purposes.
Maintenance Information
Clean the drop guide and sensor surfaces after each test.
Inspect gas connections and needle valves for leaks or wear.
Verify motor feed rate calibration periodically.
Store in a dry environment to prevent corrosion.
Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately to ensure accuracy and safety.
