1.ore crushing
In China, rough, medium and fine crushing processes are generally adopted to crush iron ore in concentrators.1.2m or 1.5m rotary crusher is used for rough crushing, 2.1m or 2.2m standard cone crusher is used for medium crushing, and 2.1m or 2.2m short head cone crusher is used for fine crushing.Through coarse ore, the lumpiness is not more than 1m, and then through the medium, fine crushing, screening into ore size less than 12mm final product sent to the grinding trough.
2.ore grinding
China's iron ore grinding process, most of the use of two-stage grinding process, small and medium-sized concentrator often use a one-stage grinding process.In recent years, some concentrators have changed from two-stage grinding to three-stage grinding because of the new process of fine screen re-grinding.The grinding equipment used is generally small, with the largest ball mill of 3.6m 6m, the largest rod mill of 3.2m 4.5m, the largest self-grinding machine of 5.5m 1.8m and the gravel mill of 2.7m 3.6m.Grinding after the classification is basically the use of spiral classifier.In order to improve efficiency, some concentrators use hydrocyclones instead of secondary spiral classifiers.

01.magnetite processing
It is mainly used to select low-grade magnetite.Due to the strong magnetism of the ore and its good grinding and separation, the domestic magnetic separation plants all adopt the stage grinding and multi-stage grinding processes. For the magnetite with coarse embedded grains (primary grinding), the latter (secondary or tertiary grinding) is adopted for the magnetite with fine and fine embedded grains (FIG. 3.2.23).China's own development of a series of permanent magnetization, so that the magnetic separation machine to achieve permanent magnetization.Since the 1970s, due to the promotion of fine screen re-grinding new technology in the national magnetite concentrator, the concentrate grade was increased from 62% to about 66%, realizing the requirement of the metallurgical industry ministry that the concentrate grade reached 65%.
02. Weak magnetic iron ore dressing
It is mainly used to separate hematite, limonite, vitrinite, siderite, pseudomorphic hematite or mixed ore, which is called "red ore".This kind of ore has low grade, fine grain size, complex mineral composition and difficult separation.After the 1980s, the research on technological processes, equipment and new kinds of reagents, such as calcination magnetic separation, wet strong magnetic separation, weak magnetic flotation and reseparation, etc. in mineral processing technology kept improving, so as to continuously improve concentrate grade and metal recovery rate.For example, the new process flow of weak magnetic-strong magnetic-flotation is adopted in the qidashan concentrator of anshan iron and steel group co., LTD. (FIG. 3.2.24), making encouraging achievements.
03. Polymetallic co-ore processing
Various types of this kind of complex mineral components, and therefore methods, equipment and process also each are not identical, such as baiyun obo ore by reverse flotation and gradient magnetic separation, flocculation flotation, weak magnetic - reverse flotation, magnetic separation, weak magnetic - is flotation, roasting magnetic separation process, in order to improve the recovery rate of iron, and comprehensive recovery of rare earth oxides.In panzhihua iron mine, about 53% of ferrovanadium concentrate was obtained by magnetic separation, and the tailings after magnetic separation were obtained by weak magnetic scavenging - strong magnetic separation - heavy separation - flotation - dry electrical separation, titanium concentrate and cobalt sulfide concentrate were obtained, and titanium and cobalt were recovered.In daye iron mine, the elements of iron, copper, cobalt and sulfur are recovered by weak magnetism, strong magnetism and flotation.
