Titanium carbide-based cemented carbide round bars, as a critical material in high-end manufacturing, exhibit outstanding corrosion resistance, demonstrating minimal susceptibility to rust or degradation in humid, acidic, or alkaline environments. With a thermal conductivity approximately 15% higher than that of conventional tungsten carbide round bars, they enable efficient dissipation of heat generated during cutting operations, thereby reducing the risk of tool wear caused by thermal overload. These round bars possess a bending strength of up to 2500 MPa, combining high hardness with adequate toughness, which effectively prevents fracture under impact loading. In aerospace applications, precision cutting tools fabricated from this material are widely employed in the machining of engine components, satisfying stringent requirements for high-precision manufacturing. The length of the round bars can be customized within the range of 100 mm to 1000 mm and are amenable to secondary processing techniques such as precision grinding and wire electrical discharge machining, enabling the production of complex-shaped components. Although the initial cost is higher compared to standard cemented carbides, the extended service life and improved processing efficiency result in a lower unit production cost over time. In the gear manufacturing industry, hobs made from this material ensure gear tooth profile accuracy of grade 6 or higher, fulfilling the performance demands of advanced mechanical transmission systems.
