Titanium carbide hard rods - Impact resistance

The anti-adhesion performance of tungsten carbide round rods containing titanium carbide is excellent. When machining sticky materials such as aluminum and copper alloys, these rods exhibit a significantly reduced tendency for built-up edge formation, thereby ensuring a smooth machined surface. Their surface properties—particularly wear and oxidation resistance—can be further enhanced through coating technologies such as TiAlN, extending tool life by over 50%. In the medical device industry, they are commonly used in the fabrication of orthopedic surgical instruments, where they maintain sharpness and dimensional stability under high-temperature sterilization conditions. The oxidation resistance of these rods can withstand temperatures up to 800 °C, making them suitable for high-temperature cutting applications and the machining of difficult-to-process materials such as superalloys. When subjected to mirror finishing, their surface achieves a coefficient of friction as low as 0.1, effectively reducing frictional resistance with the workpiece and lowering energy consumption during processing. In textile machinery, they are frequently employed in the production of wear-resistant guide rods, preventing yarn damage during high-speed operation and contributing to improved textile quality.
