Titanium Carbide powder is a grey-black to black ultrafine powder with very high chemical stability and unique physical properties. Its fine and uniform particle size, usually in the sub-micron to nanometer range, and large specific surface area give the powder good activity and filler properties. The hardness of titanium carbide powder is as high as 2800 - 3200HV, second only to diamond and cubic boron nitride, with excellent abrasion resistance; the melting point is over 3000℃, and the crystal structure is still stable at high temperature, with outstanding antioxidant ability.
In terms of chemical properties, titanium carbide powder has excellent corrosion resistance, in acid, alkali and other media is not easy to chemical reaction, and with a variety of metal, ceramic materials have good compatibility. Based on these characteristics, titanium carbide powder is often used as a key additive or reinforcing phase, which is widely used in powder metallurgy, coating preparation, cemented carbide manufacturing and other fields. By mixing with metals to make composite materials, it can significantly improve the hardness, wear resistance and high temperature strength of the material; sprayed on the surface of the workpiece to form a titanium carbide coating, it can effectively enhance the surface properties of the workpiece, and play an important role in cutting tools, moulds, aerospace parts and other aspects.
