Titanium carbide rods have high cutting efficiency

Titanium carbide round rods, fabricated from hard alloys, exhibit excellent electrical conductivity and are widely used in the production of electrodes for electrical discharge machining (EDM). In precision mold manufacturing via EDM, these rods ensure minimal electrode wear and high machining accuracy. They demonstrate superior fatigue resistance and are resistant to cracking under repeated impact loads, making them ideal for the production of tool components subjected to high-frequency vibrations. In the nuclear energy sector, their excellent radiation resistance allows for their use as machining tools for internal reactor components. These cemented carbide titanium carbide rods are high-performance materials manufactured through powder metallurgy processes, with titanium carbide serving as the primary hard phase and cobalt or nickel as the binder phase. Their hardness exceeds HRC85, and their wear resistance significantly surpasses that of conventional steel. Even in high-temperature environments exceeding 500°C, these rods maintain stable performance. Additionally, they offer exceptional dimensional accuracy, with diameter tolerances controlled within ±0.01 mm and surface roughness as low as Ra 0.02 μm. These characteristics make them highly suitable for the fabrication of precision cutting tools and mold cores. When used in the machining of difficult-to-cut materials such as stainless steel and titanium alloys, tools made from these rods can achieve a service life 10 to 20 times longer than that of high-speed steel tools, thereby substantially improving production efficiency.
