SI-111 infrared surface temperature sensor
SI-111 consists of a thermopile and a thermistor. The thermopile measures the surface temperature and the thermistor measures the body temperature of the sensor. The two temperature probes are enclosed in a durable aluminum housing with a germanium optical window on the top. Compared with the silicon optical window, the germanium window is more convenient to correct the target blackness, reduce the influence of atmospheric humidity, and make the sensor and the target object have a longer distance. Both the thermopile and thermistor outputs are millivolt signals. Our data collector can measure the millivolt voltage signal and apply the Stefan-Boltzman equation to correct the effect of the sensor body temperature on the target temperature. Using the Stefan-Boltzman equation, the SI-111 can obtain an absolute accuracy of ±0.2°C between -10 and 65°C.
