Yulin Machinery's Pneumatic Diaphragm Gate Valve is a fail-safe surface safety valve (SSV) that uses a diaphragm-type pneumatic actuator to automatically shut in wellhead flow during abnormal conditions. Compared to piston-actuated designs, the diaphragm actuator offers a lighter, more economical solution with fewer moving parts — ideal for standard onshore and offshore shut-in applications where simplicity and low maintenance are priorities.

How It Works
Like other surface safety valves in our range, the diaphragm actuator operates in a fail-close configuration. Pneumatic pressure applied to the diaphragm head holds the gate open against inlet pressure during normal operation. When an abnormal condition triggers a quick exhaust device, actuator pressure is vented and the valve closes automatically — driven by line pressure on the stem and the compression spring. Restoring pneumatic pressure reopens the valve.
