Test Principle
The manikin breathing system simulates a sinusoidal human breathing cycle by controlling inhalation and exhalation flow rate, pressure, and temperature. When combined with a thermal manikin, the system generates thermal airflow patterns and air distribution similar to those of the human body. Under controlled experimental conditions, you can collect data on particle concentration, gaseous pollutant distribution, and airflow behavior. These data are used for breathing exposure assessment, airborne disease research, and indoor airflow field analysis.
Operation Instructions
Confirm that the ambient temperature is 10–40 °C and relative humidity is 15–95% before installation;
Ensure power supply is AC 220 V / 50 Hz, with total power ≤ 350 W and exhaled air heating module power ≤ 1000 W;
Connect the breathing system to the thermal manikin using quick-connect interfaces and check cable integrity;
Set breathing parameters such as frequency, volume, inhalation/exhalation timing, and breathing mode, with PID parameters automatically tuned;
Switch between nasal and oral breathing modes during testing as required by the exposure scenario;
When using the sampling branch, ensure aerosol sampling devices are properly connected to avoid air leakage;
After testing, switch off the system, save data, and disconnect all connections.
Test Procedure
Connect the breathing system to the thermal manikin or head model and check all cables and interfaces;
Power on the control system and set breathing parameters and airflow temperature;
Activate the heating module and wait until exhaled air temperature stabilizes;
Select nasal or oral breathing mode according to test requirements;
Start the experiment and record breathing pressure, flow rate, temperature, and particle distribution data in real time;
After completion, shut down the system, disconnect power, and clean sampling ports and pipelines.
