Contact heat resistance tester
A Contact Heat Resistance Tester is a specialized laboratory instrument designed to measure a material's ability to resist and protect against heat transfer through direct contact.

It then measures the amount of time it takes for the temperature on the material's opposite (unexposed) side to reach a specified threshold, or the temperature increase after a set duration.
