Titanium carbide hard rods - long-life materials
Titanium carbide round rods, fabricated from cemented carbide, exhibit excellent electrical conductivity and are widely employed as electrodes in electrical discharge machining. In precision mold manufacturing via electrical discharge machining, these rods ensure minimal electrode wear and high dimensional accuracy. They demonstrate superior fatigue resistance and are highly resistant to cracking under repeated impact loading, making them suitable for components subjected to high-frequency vibrations. In the nuclear energy sector, their exceptional radiation resistance enables their use as machining tools for internal reactor components. The oxidation resistance of titanium carbide round rods can withstand temperatures up to 800 °C, rendering them less susceptible to oxidative wear in high-temperature cutting environments and thus ideal for machining difficult-to-cut materials such as nickel-based superalloys. When surface-polished to a mirror finish, these rods achieve a coefficient of friction as low as 0.1, significantly reducing frictional resistance during processing and lowering energy consumption. In textile machinery, they are commonly used to fabricate wear-resistant guide rods, preventing yarn damage during high-speed operation and enhancing textile quality.
