Titanium carbide rods - Corrosion resistance

The titanium carbide hard alloy guide wheel exhibits outstanding thermal shock resistance, maintaining structural integrity without cracking under rapid temperature fluctuations from room temperature to 300°C and back. This characteristic makes it particularly suitable for intermittent production environments. The guide wheels are available in a wide range of dimensions, with diameters spanning 50 mm to 500 mm and widths from 10 mm to 100 mm, enabling compatibility with various drawing and rolling equipment. In optical fiber and cable manufacturing, these guide wheels ensure precise fiber alignment, maintaining signal attenuation below 0.2 dB/km and thereby guaranteeing high-quality communication performance. Compared to ceramic guide wheels, titanium carbide guide wheels demonstrate superior toughness, reducing the likelihood of fracture caused by minor impacts and significantly decreasing replacement frequency. Their service life is approximately two to three times longer than that of ceramic counterparts. In steel cord production, a single set of titanium carbide guide wheels can process over 1,000 tons of cord, whereas ceramic guide wheels typically last only 300 to 500 tons. Owing to their cost-effectiveness and durability, titanium carbide guide wheels have been widely adopted in the tire industry, contributing to enhanced wear resistance and improved tire safety.
