Titanium carbide rods can replace die steel

The anti-adhesion performance of titanium carbide round rods fabricated from hard alloy is highly superior. When machining adhesive materials such as aluminum and copper alloys, the likelihood of "tool build-up" is significantly reduced, thereby ensuring a smooth and high-quality machined surface. The surface properties of these rods can be further enhanced through coating treatments, such as TiAlN coating, which improve wear resistance and oxidation resistance, extending tool life by more than 50%. In the medical device industry, these rods are commonly used in the fabrication of orthopedic surgical instruments, offering both excellent sharpness and the ability to withstand high-temperature sterilization without deformation. Compared with conventional high-speed steel rods, titanium carbide round rods allow for a cutting speed that is 3 to 5 times higher, substantially reducing processing time in mass production. Their microstructure is uniform, with grain size controllable to below 1 μm, ensuring consistent mechanical properties throughout the material and preventing tool failure caused by material inhomogeneity. In the mold industry, cold stamping die inserts made from this material exhibit a service life that is 50 to 100 times longer than that of steel inserts, significantly decreasing replacement frequency and overall production costs.
