Characteristics：
1. Tantalum is a rare, shiny, gray, dense metal. It is highly ductile and can be drawn into a thin wire.
2. Its chemical properties are very similar to those of niobium.
3. Tantalum is highly corrosion resistant due to the formation of an oxide film.
4. Tantalum's high melting point of 3017 °C (boiling point 5458 °C) is exceeded only by tungsten, rhenium and osmium for metals, and carbon.
Applications:
1. electronic components，mainly capacitors and some high-power resistors.
2. vacuum furnace parts
3. surgical instruments and implants
