Nano titanium carbide (TiC) has a high specific surface area

Titanium carbide powder has high sintering activity and can be sintered densely at 1300-1500℃, which is 200-300℃ lower than the sintering temperature of alumina ceramics, thus saving energy costs. Compared with other ceramic powders (such as silicon carbide), it has better toughness, with a fracture toughness of up to 6MPa·m¹/², making it suitable for manufacturing structural ceramic parts. The powder can be made into granular form through spray drying, which is convenient for forming and processing. The density of the compact can reach more than 65% of the theoretical density. In the field of wear-resistant valves, ceramic valves made from this powder can withstand the erosion of high-pressure fluids and have a service life 20 times that of steel valves. With the development of the new energy industry, titanium carbide powder is also applied in lithium-ion batteries. When used as an anode material, its theoretical capacity reaches 350mAh/g and its cycle life exceeds 1,000 times. After the surface of the powder is coated with a layer of carbon, its conductivity is further enhanced, and the charging and discharging efficiency of the battery is increased to over 95%. In the field of energy storage, it provides a new direction for the research and development of high-performance batteries and promotes the progress of new energy technologies.
