Bovine Carnitine Palmitoyltransferase I ELISA kit is suitable for the detection of samples from Bovine species. Carnitine palmitoyltransferase I can also be called arnitine acyltransferase I, CPTI, CAT1, CoA, carnitine acyltransferase i(CCAT), or palmitoyl CoA transferase I, CPT 1, CPT-1.

Specifications of Bovine Carnitine Palmitoyltransferase I ELISA kit

The CPT 1 ELISA kit uses an anti-CPT 1 antibody and a CPT 1-HRP conjugate to perform a competitive enzyme immunoassay. The CPT 1-HRP conjugate is incubated with the assay sample and buffer in a pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CPT 1 concentration since CPT 1 from samples and CPT 1-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CPT 1 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CPT 1 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CPT 1-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is drawn connecting the color's intensity (O.D.) and standard concentration. From this standard curve, the CPT 1 concentration in each sample is extrapolated.
