Phosphatidylserine is a kind of compound that can be extracted from raw materials from different sources. It exists in biofilms of all animals, higher plants, and microorganisms, and is one of the important components of phospholipids in cell membranes. It cannot be completely synthesized by the human body. When we ingest exogenous phosphatidylserine, some of the phosphatidylserines that enter the bloodstream is converted to phosphatidylethanolamine by decarboxylation, or lysophosphatidylserine by deacylation, or serine can be removed, which enters the amino acid metabolic pathway, but in plasma, lipid-soluble phosphatidylserine metabolites still dominate, mainly as prototype drugs. Metabolism of phosphatidylserine in the liver and brain is similar to that in the blood, regardless of the mode of administration, and the prototype drug is excreted primarily through the intestine, followed by the kidneys. Fat-soluble metabolites and agents are mainly excreted in the intestine, and water-soluble metabolites are mainly excreted in the kidneys.
