Ultraviolet (UV) light and intense visible light can accelerate the oxidation of DL-Alanine’s amino group (-NH₂), leading to the formation of impurities (e.g., aldehydes, ketones) and color deterioration (white → pale yellow).
- Storage location: Keep in a dark or opaque container (e.g., amber glass jars, opaque plastic buckets) or store in a cabinet, warehouse shelf, or room with no direct sunlight.
- Avoid transparent packaging: Do not use clear plastic bags or glass containers without light protection for long-term storage.
