What Is UNS C70600 90/10 Copper Nickel Pipe?
UNS C70600, also known as CuNi 90/10 or CuNi10Fe1Mn, is a copper-nickel alloy based on copper with approximately 10% nickel, as well as controlled additions of iron and manganese. The term “90/10” generally refers to the approximate ratio of copper and nickel in the alloy-about 90% copper and 10% nickel.
Compared with standard copper pipes or carbon steel pipes, C70600 copper nickel alloy provides superior corrosion resistance in flowing seawater, mildly polluted seawater, saltwater, and certain chloride-containing media. During service, a dense and stable protective film forms on the material surface, improving its long-term performance in marine environments.
C70600 copper nickel alloy also offers good thermal conductivity and fabrication properties. It can be welded, bent, expanded, flared, and processed using other conventional pipe fabrication methods.
